This 100% Islay release for the Taiwanese market appeared at the end of 2017. The whisky was matured for over 5 years in a bourbon barrel. At the same time, two almost 6-year-old 100% Islay Oloroso Sherry Hogshead Single Cask bottlings were released in Taiwan, which gave Taiwanese Kilchoman lovers a nice opportunity to compare the maturation in the two different types of casks.
