The Chinese Kilchoman importer Single Malt Club China (SMCC) released an exclusive series of five single cask bottlings under the name The Wills Family Cask Collection in October 2021. The series was based on the concept of each of the five members of Kilchoman’s founding family selecting a special favourite cask. This was already the third time that this concept was implemented: already in autumn 2020, a series of the same name had been released by the French Kilchoman importer LMDW, and since 2018, there have been the once-a-year Founders Cask releases in the UK.

George Wills, the eldest son of Anthony and Kathy Wills, opted this time for a 9-year-old finish in a Pedro Ximénez sherry cask. The whisky was first matured for 7 years in an ex-bourbon barrel and was then finished for two years in a fresh PX sherry hogshead.
