After the Japanese Kilchoman importer Whisk-e Ltd first released a two-and-a-half year old 100% Islay New Spirit in mid-2011, the first bottling of a 100% Islay whisky for Japan listed here followed in early 2012. The whisky, made from the farm’s own barley, was matured for three and a half years in an ex-bourbon barrel.
