New Small Batch Release “Triskele Casks – Sweden Exclusive” released
A Triskele Casks Release – the new name introduced this year for the Kilchoman Small Batch Series – has now also been released in Sweden at the end of the year.
The Celtic symbol of the Triskele, which is known to adorn every Kilchoman bottle as a logo, symbolises, among other things, the unity of three elements. As a name for Kilchoman’s small batch bottlings, which consist of three different cask types that together form a new unit, it is certainly a good choice.
The whiskies in the series of Small Batch Releases for Selected Markets, which began in 2019, are each based on a finished Machir Bay vatting or Machir Bay Collaborative Vatting, i.e. a whisky with an alcohol strength of 46% that has previously been aged for around 5 years, mainly in bourbon casks and 5-15% in Oloroso sherry casks. This vatting is then married with one additional special cask.
For the Triskele Casks – Sweden Exclusive, the additional cask is an STR cask (Shaved, Toasted & Re-charred ex-Red Wine cask). The proportions of the three types of cask used are stated as 75% Bourbon, 5% Oloroso Sherry and 20% STR cask.
The bottles are available from today for SEK 849 each in the branches of the state monopoly retailer Systembolaget.
