Auction of Kilchoman Casks announced
Today at 6:30pm UK time Anthony Wills presented on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube in detail the planned programme for the Kilchoman Open Day at this year’s virtual whisky festival Fèis Ìle next Thursday. As we reported earlier, there will be a whole series of extremely interesting programme items.
He then surprised Kilchoman fans with the following announcement: On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Kilchoman distillery – which was officially opened at Fèis Ìle 2005 – a total of 15 casks of Kilchoman New Make will be auctioned. The auction of the first five of these 15 casks will begin on Kilchoman Day on May 28, 2020, when interested parties will be able to bid online for the following casks for about a week

- STR Hogshead
- Oloroso Sherry Hogshead
- Madeira Hogeshead
- Port Hogshead

Following the Private Cask Programme of 2006-2007, which was primarily designed to create urgently needed cash flow for the distillery’s ongoing operations, private individuals will now be offered the opportunity to purchase their own Kilchoman cask for the first time again in the anniversary year. Details of the auction will be announced in the coming days. Two further auctions with 5 more casks each will take place in the course of the year.
