Kilchoman Calvados Finish for »Genuss am Gaumen«
There aren’t many casks left from which you haven’t been able to taste Kilchoman whisky matured in them. Now another gap has been filled in what Kilchoman founder Anthony Wills likes to call “experimental casks”.
On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, the Austrian spirits retailer “Genuss am Gaumen” today presented a Calvados Finish Single Cask for the first time worldwide. Distilled on 3 May 2012, the whisky was initially matured for almost 8 years in Bourbon Barrel No. 242/2012 and then aged for 6 months in a French calvados cask. The yield of 252 bottles was bottled on 10 July 2020 at an alcohol strength of 55.2%. The bottling can be purchased for 105 euros directly at Genuss am Gaumen or from the Austrian Kilchoman importer “Potstill Wien”.
