Rennie had worked as stillman at the Ardbeg distillery since its reopening in 1997, and before that at Bruichladdich for 8 years. He was also seconded to the Glen Moray distillery in 2003 for 6 months to act as assistant manager. ..

The two stills, the mash tun and other equipment arrived at the distillery. They were manufactured by the well-known company Forsyths of Rothes, the Scottish market leader for distillery equipment, and are to be installed and connected within the next few weeks. .
