First Kilchoman Travel Retail Release: Coull Point

Even though the first bottles have been spotted at individual airports since the end of 2013, Kilchoman officially announced the release of its first Travel Retail Exclusive bottling Coull Point today, 5 March 2014.

Coull Point is a rugged headland just half a mile north of Machir Bay. With this designation, Kilchoman continues the tradition of naming whiskies after geographical landmarks near the distillery.

This is a vatting of 4 and 5 year old fresh ex-bourbon barrels, with the 4 year old whisky being finished for 4 weeks in Oloroso sherry butts. The composition therefore corresponds to a Machir Bay 2013, so the Coull Point could well be described as a Machir Bay batch with its own name.

Bottled at 46%, the release is available exclusively from 14 branches of the “World of Whiskies” travel retail chain in the UK, including Heathrow, Gatwick, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen. The recommended retail price is £44.99.
