Kilchoman 100% Islay Orange Wine Finish 1229/2018 [for German Comraich Bars] released

The German Kilchoman importer, Hanseatische Weinhandelsgesellschaft Bremen, has now released a very special single cask bottling for the seven German Comraich bars: the world’s first Kilchoman Orange Wine Cask Finish.

Orange wine has not only become increasingly popular among wine lovers in recent years, but the casks are also obviously all the rage in Scottish whisky distilleries. Now whisky fans can try for the first time how the Kilchoman distillate develops in Orange Wine casks. To give away our detailed description of the taste in advance: the slightly less peaty 100% Islay distillate chosen here in particular resulted in a wonderfully fruity Kilchoman with a slightly different touch.

There are now more than 100 whisky bars worldwide that stand out for their exceptional range of whiskies in general and Kilchoman whiskies in particular, and have been awarded the status of a Comraich bar by Kilchoman. Only there, for example, can the specially bottled Comraich releases be tasted. There are currently seven Comraich bars in Germany:

After a period of uncertainty regarding the future of the Comraich bar concept, the German importer has now decided to strengthen the German bars with a special bottling, not least because the current Comraich Release 100% Islay Casks was considered somewhat disappointing. We very much welcome this step and recommend that every whisky lover take the opportunity to visit one of the Comraich bars in the near future.
