Kilchoman 8 yo Single Cask Portuguese Brandy Finish 788/2016 for DrankDozijn “Sabores”

The well-known Dutch online spirits retailer drankdozijn (D12) has already released six Kilchoman single cask bottlings at fairly regular intervals in the recent past, and after a break of almost exactly two years, the seventh has now followed.

At the end of 2020, single cask bottlings under the names »Blond« and »Auburn« were released, followed by »Lava« in mid-2021 and »Añejo« at the end of 2021, as well as »Ubhal« and »Mealach« at the end of 2022.

The seventh bottling under the name »Sabores« – Portuguese for »flavours« – is a world first, namely the first Brandy cask finish of Kilchoman. The whisky was first matured for nearly 7 years in an ex-Bourbon barrel before being finished in a Portuguese Brandy cask for over a year.
