Kilchoman Exclusive Releases for International Whisky Festival Den Haag 2021

From 19 to 21 November, the International Whisky Festival was supposed to take place in The Hague. As festival releases, the organisers had two different Kilchoman single casks bottled: an STR cask finish and one of the still extremely rare mezcal cask finishings. However, due to the stricter Corona regulations in the Netherlands, the festival had to be cancelled at short notice.
The Kilchoman bottlings were already sold online on the organiser’s website before the festival, the Mezcal Finish was sold out immediately, a few bottles of the STR Cask Finish are still available.
Both whiskies were aged for more than 8 years in a fresh ex-bourbon barrel and were then matured for 7 months in a STR cask (a shaved, re-charred and toasted red wine hogshead) and for 9 months in a mezcal cask respectively.
