After the US Kilchoman importer ImpEx Beverages had released the first mezcal cask finish for the USA in its Cask Evolution series in July 2021, the bottling mentioned here for caskshare.com, which was released in December 2022, was the second of its kind in the USA.

The whisky was first matured for 7 years in a Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel and was then finished for 18 months in a Mezcal cask.
