The whisky for this 100% Islay single cask bottling for Taiwan, released in mid-2018, was initially matured for just over 4 years in a fresh ex-bourbon barrel and was then decanted into an Oloroso sherry hogshead on 21 December 2015 and finished in this for 26 months.

As is so often the case with Kilchoman single cask bottlings, cask 714/2011 is one of a series of sister casks (here: Casks No. 714/2011 – 721/2011 with Oloroso Sherry finishes from 8 to 45 months; see: Kilchomania database), which have been bottled for various markets worldwide and allow Kilchoman friends to make interesting comparisons if they manage to acquire the bottlings from the various countries.
