Kilchoman Original Cask Strength released

Kilchoman has now announced the new Original Cask Strength, as the last limited release of 2014. And if Kilchoman is to be believed, this undiluted whisky, bottled at an alcohol strength of 59.2 %, will keep us warm when the nights get longer.

For the bottling, 35 ex-bourbon barrels from 2009 were selected, with a total yield of 9,200 bottles. From today, 3 October 2014, the edition will be available worldwide via existing distributors and online.

The whisky has not been coloured or chill-filtered and has been bottled at natural cask strength, which is intended to present it in its purest form with an incomparable intensity of flavour and texture.

Anthony Wills, Kilchoman founder and managing director said: “It has always been my intention to release a cask strength expression once we had the stock available.   This is the way single malt should be drunk.   It allows everyone to experience Kilchoman with all the characteristics captured in the glass”.
