In the summer of 2023, the German Kilchoman importer Hanseatische Weinhandelsgesellschaft Bremen released An Samhradh 2023, already the sixth Uniquely Islay series with ten different bottlings.
This is number 7 in the series, one of two different Port Cask Finishings.

The whisky was first matured for over seven years in a bourbon barrel and was then decanted into Port Quarter Casks 488A/2013 and 488B/2013. While the latter was bottled at the end of July 2021 for the Dutch retailer Slijterij Vonk in Zaandam after a finishing period of 7 months, the cask listed here experienced a finishing period of over 2 years. This allows an interesting comparison of the two casks.
