For whisky fairs, tastings, the Kilchoman Land Rover Tours and similar events, Kilchoman has occasionally filled individual bottles with New Make or cask samples. As these bottles were not sold on the market, but were drunk during the events, they are not usually listed in our database. The “Representative Sample Loch Gorm 2019” mentioned here is one of the exceptions made.
It is not at all uncommon for whisky bottles to be auctioned off at whisky fairs for a good cause and the fair organisers approach the exhibitors with the request to make bottles available for this purpose. Such was the case with the bottle listed here, which was auctioned at the “floating whisky fair” Cinderella Whisky Fair, held aboard the Viking Cinderella on three cruises from 14 to 17 February. The bottle is now in the collection of Hans-Peter Neumann.
It is a “representative” cask sample from Oloroso Sherry Butt 421/2007, one of the casks used a short time later for Loch Gorm 2019.
