This Kilchoman single cask bottling for Taiwan was released in summer 2014. The importer Sun Favorite from Taipei presented here a whisky matured for four and a half years in an Oloroso Sherry Butt.

The Oloroso Sherry Butt 451/2009 was a so-called “split cask”. This means that only part of the contents was used for this bottling, the other part was bottled on the same day for the Single Malt Aficionados Club of the wine and spirits merchant D&M Wines & Liquors from San Francisco. Especially in the early Kilchoman days, when the individual markets did not yet require such high bottle numbers, it was a common practice to divide the contents of the large 500 litre sherry butts between two or three bottlings.
