New in the Visitor Centre: 10 yo Distillery Exclusive 100% Islay Small Batch Release

Since last week a new Distillery Exclusive Release is available in the Kilchoman Visitor Centre. This time it is not a single cask bottling but a 100% Islay Small Batch Release.

The bottling was created from whiskies that were matured for ten years in ex-bourbon barrels (approx. 60%) and Oloroso sherry casks (approx. 40%). Like all 100% Islay whiskies, the Single Farm Single Malt was produced entirely “from barley to bottle” at Kilchoman. With this bottling, Kilchoman wants to ensure that a 100% Islay release, which is the distillery’s pride and joy and reflects its self-image as Islay’s farm distillery, is always available at the visitor centre.

The bottling is not part of the series of Small Batch Releases for Selected Markets (also known as Triskele Casks), which was discontinued at the end of 2023, but is a stand-alone small batch release. Bottled at 50% abv and, as always with Kilchoman, uncoloured and non-chill filtered, a bottle costs £90.
