New on the German market: Kilchoman Blanc de Blancs Single Cask Finish 1103/2016 for Whiskyhort Oberhausen, Schlüter´s Geniessertreff & Flickenschild

The German whisky shop Whiskyhort in Oberhausen celebrated its 10th birthday a few days ago, Schlüter´s Geniessertreff in Wülfrath will soon be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the expansion to include a whisky shop, and Flickenschild in Itzehoe is even celebrating its 120th anniversary. Reason enough for a special Whisky3 bottling, loosely based on the motto ‘3 shops, 3 anniversaries, 1 whisky!’

The three owners decided to use the occasion for a joint individual cask bottling of a Kilchoman Blanc de Blancs Finish.

In the summer of 2022, Kilchoman had for the first time purchased 40 Blanc de Blancs casks from the Champagne region and used a dozen of them to finish Bourbon Barrels from 2016 (all information can be found here: Taste Guide Blanc de Blancs Champagne Cask). Eight of these casks were then released worldwide in 2023 after an average finishing period of just under a year.

The finishing period for the bottling of Whisky³ is now more than twice as long. The packaging states a finishing period of over two years, but the actual figure is 28 months. This leads us to expect a significantly stronger Blanc de Blancs wine flavour than in previous bottlings. We will publish a comparative tasting shortly.

The 232 bottles of the release are now available at all three Whisky³ shops for €99.90.
