After a single cask was bottled exclusively for Australia for the first time in 2017, the 100% Islay release listed here followed in 2018.
The whisky was first matured for just over 4 years in an ex-bourbon barrel before being decanted into an Oloroso sherry hogshead on 21 December 2015 and finished in this for 26 months. (The information on the back of the packaging – over 5 years in a bourbon barrel, 10 months Oloroso finish – is incorrect).

As is so often the case with Kilchoman single cask bottlings, cask 714/2011 is one of a series of sister casks (here: Casks No. 714/2011 – 721/2011 with Oloroso Sherry finishes from 8 to 45 months; see: Kilchomania database), which have been bottled for various markets worldwide and allow Kilchoman friends to make interesting comparisons if they manage to acquire the bottlings from the various countries.
