On 4.9.2017, Kilchoman Vintage 2009 was released, the 4th edition of the series, which this year featured an innovation. While the first three editions were matured exclusively in Bourbon Barrels, Anthony Wills selected for the Vintage 2009 an additional 3 Oloroso Sherry Butts from 2008. These were intended to give the whisky tones of cooked fruit in addition to the lighter citrus and vanilla notes of the Bourbon barrels.
